Our Founder

Jennifer Chu, M.D. is Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and Founder of eToims® Medical Technology, LLC. She is an Emeritus Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania, where she has been on faculty for over 30 years. To address the growing need of effective, non-invasive pain management, Dr. Chu combined years of clinical training and research in medicine, pain management, rehabilitation, and acupuncture to develop the non-invasive eToims® Technique in 2006.

Along with many peer-reviewed publications, Jennifer Chu, M.D. is the author of a textbook entitled Electrodiagnosis: An Anatomical and Clinical Approach. She is also an active member of numerous prestigious national medical societies, and was awarded honorary membership in the European Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Jennifer Chu, M.D. also holds several patents for non-invasive solutions in providing pain rehabilitation.

Dr. Chu obtained her medical degree from the Institute of Medicine2, Rangoon, Burma, with residency training at the University of Pennsylvania. Board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Jennifer Chu, M.D. completed her post-graduate training in electrodiagnostic medicine at the University of Uppsala in Sweden. In 1988, Dr. Chu became certified in the practice of acupuncture. Currently, she continues to teach residents on topics of electrodiagnostic and neuromuscular medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
